Willie Crum

Willie Crum is an inspiration to everyone who is privileged to meet him. Working slowly but with a purpose, Willie creates beautiful abstract pieces and landscapes.

He foregoes painting with a brush, preferring to manipulate the paint with gloved hands.  This technique creates a distinctive, swirling and mixing within the color fields in his abstract work. He enjoys creating at the studio because “it is a source of income, and it helps develop fine motor control.”

He also has used his artwork as a means to express himself in a new way. Through experimentation and courage Willie has expanded his artistic skills and his body of work is steadily growing.

When Willie is not at the studio, he enjoys hanging out at book stores and coffee shops.  Willie is a true coffee jock and has a hard time getting into the grove at the studio if he has missed his morning java. He also loves seeing films, especially horror.

Willie’s head is usually adorned with a hat from his extensive and impressive collection.  This stylish artist was born in New York and has also lived in Texas, but we are very fortunate that Willie now calls Columbus his home.
