Ernie Strickland

Ernie Strickland is one of the studio’s class clowns.

His playful teasing and endless supply of jokes keeps his fellow artists in stitches all session long.

When asked about his favorite color, he says “Anything shiny, like silver or gold… Like a necklace that rappers wear.”

It’s no wonder that one of his favorite past times is listening to rap music, especially Young Jeezy.

Ernie prefers graphite as a medium and draws representational pieces, usually of people.

He says that he likes to make art because it challenges his mind and his memory.  He likes to practice a lot, and realizes that he gets much better with repetition.

To spice up his artistic practice Ernie occasionally dabbles in watercolor paintings which are often inspired by his vast collection of illustrations.

With hard work and determination, Ernie approaches each new studio session as an opportunity to learn, grow and create!
