Ceith Purifoy

Ceith Purifoy is amazingly adept at illustration and he has a boundless imagination that leans toward the fantastical.

He will often draw “creatures within creatures”, with faces coming out of scales or even teeth of another creature.

He carries around his sketchbook wherever he goes, and each studio session Ceith loves to share all of the amazing drawings he has created while away from the studio.

In addition to drawing and painting, Ceith creates tiny houses and other miniatures out of clay.

He also has an impressive portfolio of paintings that depict some of his most interesting and inspiring imagery.

His paintings are often tall and narrow, perhaps a subconscious reflection of Ceith’s own impressive height.

When he is not making art, he loves to play video games, watch television and movies, and read comic books. Ceith’s love of these media often infiltrates his artwork and these interests always find their way into the conversation at Open Door.

Ceith was honored to receive the first place award in the emerging artist category at the 2011 VSA Ohio’s Accessible Expressions Exhibition for a sculpture titled Incognito.
